Self-Publishing
Before you pay to self-publish your poems, prayers, devotionals, or children's
picture book, visit the Poetry Markets page and check out the guidelines for
traditional publishing companies. The editors may be more open to your work
than you think! And, you will have the advantage of their help
in proofreading, correcting mistakes, making suggestions for improvement, designing, obtaining
an ISBN number, printing, advertising, marketing to book stores, and promoting
your work in general.
If you have given up on that idea or you want more control over each step
of production or you have a built-in market for book sales, then help yourself
succeed by developing a plan on how you will proceed with self-publishing.
BEFORE you self-publish your poetry, poetic manuscript, or children's picture
book, please see the important information on the Edit webpage. In proportion
to overall expenses in time and production
costs, a final edit of your manuscript
is priced much less than it's worth to get professional help and give your hard
work the quality treatment it deserves.
