Writing Consultation for a Book Proposal of your full-length fiction or nonfiction book
Why bother with this? The idea of a book proposal is to find out if you have a big enough and marketable idea for your book before you go to all the trouble of writing the full manuscript. A book proposal will also keep you on track as you write and provide you with the proposal package you will send to a literary agent or traditional publishing company.
-
A book proposal needs a cover page with headings for your name and contact information, the title of the book, the audience, the market potential, a summary (in a few sentences) and a brief bio of your qualifications for writing this particular book.
-
Include an outline for a nonfiction book and a synopsis written in present tense for fiction. Either will be no more than five double-spaced pages.
-
Also include up to 20 pages of the first chapter.
-
Send the above with an SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) for the return of your book proposal with the fee of $75.00 in U.S. funds to Mary Sayler, P.O. Box 62, Lake Como, FL 32157-0062.
